Successfully Starting the New Year

As our team approached the new year, we wondered how we could make 2021 our most efficient year yet. December is typically a quieter month for us, so to take advantage of the downtime, we laid out a Continuous Improvement Initiative for the whole team.

We set an ambitious goal to complete 400 improvements in December. This was going to be a challenge that required significant team participation with team members out and holidays making for a shorter timeline.

What is Continuous Improvement?

A continuous improvement strategy is any policy or process within a workplace that helps keep the focus on improving the way things are done... This could be through regular incremental improvements or by focusing on achieving larger process improvements.” - Creative Safety Supply

For our initiative, there were no limits on how big or small the improvement needed be, for example -

  • Organize files and folders on your desktop/OneDrive/Google Drive

  • Clean up Asana tasks and projects

  • Unsubscribe from unnecessary emails

  • Delete old voicemails

  • Improve, create or automate a process

  • Update outdated documents

  • Create templates for commonly used emails or projects

Our Results

Our team managed to complete 406 continuous improvements in 18 business days! It was so fun to track the changes day after day and see contributions from each team member adding up! Many team members reported relief and excitement from cleared out inboxes and simplified forms.

Our mission at Persolvent is to make life easier through innovation and technology. We believe this challenge did just that and helped us prep for an efficient 2021!
