Leading at Persolvent

‘Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It's about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then standing back and letting them shine.” - Chris Hadfield

Do you want to know more about leaders at Persolvent? In this post, we’ll go over just that, along with our goals for our leaders.

No Managers Allowed

You’ll notice we don’t use the word “manager” and that’s deliberate! At Persolvent, we believe true leaders encourage and empower their team to take ownership and lead in their own roles. It’s not primarily a position of status to be a leader, but instead it is a responsibility and opportunity to help grow and empower team members. Coach, leader and supervisor are better descriptors.

“We believe leadership is a privilege. It’s also a responsibility. It demands risk and accountability.” - John Maxwell

Leadership Impact

Our leaders facilitate open and honest discussions and help their team sort through the challenges they are facing.

They meet on a weekly or biweekly basis with each team member to check-in and ensure there are no roadblocks that need to be addressed, and if there are, discuss the next steps on how to navigate them.

Each month, leaders meet with each other to discuss positives, feedback, and any challenges. There’s always time to learn and discuss content that helps us grow. It is a time for constructive and informative dialogue where everyone weighs in or takes away an insight. It’s often the highlight of the week!

In one of their most important touchpoints, each quarter, supervisors have passion reviews with each of their team members.

The “Great Eight”

We capture our goals for our leaders in ‘the “Great Eight” Keys to Exceptional Leadership. We believe if we aim for these and keep improving, our team and company will succeed.

What Are Persolvent Leaders Made Of?

  • Passionate about our Core Values and the “Great Eight”

  • Consistently holding themselves and others accountable.

  • Willing to have tough conversations in a compassionate way.

  • Aiming for a positive and constructive outcome in any situation.
